Use Git with a Visual Client Instead of the Terminal

SourceTree is a free graphical Git client that replaces many command-line steps with a visual interface. Instead of entering commands, you can use menus and panes to move around repositories, stage and commit changes, and perform everyday Git workflows.

What to Be Aware Of

SourceTree handles the essential Git functionality reliably and is generally fast, but it doesn’t include some convenience extras that other tools may provide. For instance, there isn’t a single universal “undo” button that instantly reverses user mistakes — in some cases you’ll need to run a manual Git command or follow a multi-step recovery procedure.
