Organization and folders
SOHO Notes supports both user-created smart folders and several built-in folders for common items:

Quick access (DockNote)
Even when SOHO Notes is not actively open, a side tab on the right edge of the desktop — DockNote — provides fast access to folders and individual notes. From there you can open a folder or jump into a particular note without relaunching the full application.
Media, attachments and content types
The app handles a variety of embedded content:
- PDFs
- Audio recordings or files
- Photos
- Videos
This lets you keep reference documents, voice memos, images and clips alongside your written notes.
Publishing and synchronization
In preferences you can configure note publishing to blogging services, attach keywords for easier searching, and synchronize your notes with handheld devices (including legacy Palm devices and other mobile handhelds).
Recent fixes and improvements
- Improved the save speed for notes containing many embedded tasks
- Corrected DockNote’s ignoring of the “include in DockNote and service menus” preference
- Resolved an issue where DockNote’s auto-hide behavior failed intermittently
- Fixed a problem deleting notes from the alarm window
- Addressed a bug where saving a note could cause it to jump to the top of the list
Alternative recommendation
If you prefer a more traditional, paid word processor with strong editing and formatting tools, Microsoft Word is a commonly suggested alternative.
