Instant banking made simple
SBI Quick is a lightweight service from the State Bank of India that lets customers obtain account information without visiting a branch. Instead of using a full online banking app, SBI Quick provides answers via missed calls and SMS, so you can check your account details with minimal effort and no internet connection.
How the service works
- Trigger a service by letting the bank’s number ring (missed call) or by sending a specific SMS keyword to the number provided by the bank.
- No app login or password is required once your mobile number is registered with the bank.
- The service is limited to enquiries only; it does not support fund transfers or other transactional operations.
Enrolling your mobile number
- Send your bank account number to the SBI Quick number given by the bank to begin registration.
- You must make sure the mobile number you register is already updated with your bank records.
- A confirmation SMS will tell you whether registration succeeded.
- Only one mobile number can be linked to a given account at a time; to change which account is associated with a mobile number you must de-register and then re-register for the new account.
Account queries you can request
- E-statements (PDF of the last six months) — these PDFs are encrypted using a 4-digit code you provide and are sent to your registered email.
- Mini statement (typically the last five transactions) available via SMS or missed call.
- Last clear balance for your account, retrievable by SMS or missed call.
- Loan interest certificates (education or home) — these require an SMS request that includes your account number and the 4-digit encryption code.
Note: Some services (like the loan certificates and e-statements) require an SMS rather than a missed call because they need the account number and encryption code to generate secure documents.
Card settings and product details
- Block or re-enable ATM card usage and toggle ATM transactions on or off using the card-management option.
- Access short product summaries for offerings such as home loans and car loans to view the latest features and terms.
Costs and message delivery
- SBI does not charge for SBI Quick services, but standard SMS or call rates from your mobile operator may apply.
- Responses to your requests appear in your device’s messaging inbox; e-statements arrive by email (encrypted with your code).
When this is useful
SBI Quick is handy when you only need account information quickly and don’t want to log in to full internet banking or visit a branch. It offers a fast, low-bandwidth way to receive common account details and manage basic card controls, making routine banking enquiries easier and faster.
