Mount Google Drive as a local volume with RaiDrive
RaiDrive lets you attach Google Drive to any computer by exposing it as a virtual drive. After installation the cloud storage appears like a normal folder on your system, so you can open, edit and save files directly from desktop applications without constantly using a web browser.
How synchronization works
- Two-way syncing: edits made on your computer or inside the cloud are propagated both directions so files stay consistent.
- Local representation: the program creates a local drive/folder that reflects the contents of your Google Drive.
- Automatic updates: changes are detected and applied automatically so your files remain up to date.
Work offline and keep your workflow simple
Because your cloud files are presented as a local drive, many operations are available even when you’re disconnected. Cached items can be accessed and modified offline; any updates are queued and synchronized once an internet connection is restored. The interface is kept straightforward to simplify everyday file management.
Alternatives to consider
- Dropbox — a long-standing option with polished desktop clients and broad app compatibility.
- Proton Drive (Free) — a privacy-focused service that provides a no-cost tier for basic secure cloud storage.
