QDoc Virtual Health is a free iPhone app that enables Canadians to have medical consultations remotely. It connects users with licensed physicians for live video visits so patients can get care from home.

Getting started with the app

• Complete the patient intake form in the app so a clinician has your basic health information.
• Register for an account and set up your patient profile.
• After those steps, you will be linked to a doctor who can review your chart and perform an audio/video appointment.

What types of care are offered

• Doctors can issue medical notes for work or school when appropriate.
• Referrals to specialists can be arranged when required.
• Clinicians are able to request laboratory testing on your behalf.
• Non-controlled prescription medications may be prescribed for episodic, non-emergency conditions.

Who can use it and what it costs

The service is provided at no charge to residents of Manitoba, Nunavut, and select parts of Northwestern Ontario who present a valid provincial health card. It is intended for non-emergency, episodic medical needs rather than urgent or emergency care.
