Product snapshot: What Prezi Desktop does
Prezi Desktop is a freemium tool for building dynamic, non-linear presentations. Instead of moving slide-by-slide in sequence, viewers can jump to topics or sections that interest them, creating a more flexible flow. The desktop client also supports offline editing and presenting when you don’t have internet access.

Key capabilities
Prezi provides customizable templates and the option to start from a blank canvas. You can import existing slides from other programs, drag-and-drop prebuilt “story blocks” (flowcharts, maps, etc.), save frequently used blocks to favorites, and search for specific layouts or elements. Charts and graphs are editable in-app, and there’s a large gallery of stock images you can use in addition to your own uploads.
Video creation with Prezi Video
Creating a video starts from the dashboard with a template selection. The editor displays the camera feed and frame editor side-by-side so you can place visuals alongside your live image. Add frames repeatedly with the “Add frame” button, populate each frame with text and images, and reorder frames in the timeline.
When you’re ready to record, a countdown begins and you can switch among three display modes while filming: presenter-only, presenter-plus-content, and content-only. Stop recording with the same button, then review your clip. You can trim the start and finish, discard and redo takes, and scrub through the timeline to jump to specific points.
Sharing, exporting, and remote control
Prezi lets you:
- Publish videos to YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter
- Go live or copy a shareable link for manual distribution
- Download recordings to your device for local storage
The platform is cloud-based and cross-platform, but the desktop app enables offline use. You can also use a smartphone as a remote clicker to advance or jump through your presentation.
Pricing tiers and special packages
A basic Prezi account is available at no cost. Paid plans unlock extra features and capabilities. There are specialized subscriptions designed for educators and collaborative teams, marketed under business and education bundles with tools for internal sharing and coauthoring.
Presenter-focused features and style
Prezi’s interface emphasizes visual movement and creative transitions (zooming, fading, etc.), which help make presentations feel more conversational. Presenter view provides private notes while keeping the audience-facing display clean. The ability to click elements directly to navigate gives presenters flexibility to adapt to audience interest.
Recent additions
The developers have expanded the platform with newer offerings such as Prezi Design and Prezi Video. The free tier continues to provide entry to the Present, Design, and Video products so users can explore the core toolset without paying.
