The game ships with 18 official scenarios that present special conditions and historical twists—for example, a “Black Death” scenario that reimagines medieval bubonic plague behavior in a modern world. If the built-in challenges aren’t enough, the Steam Workshop support lets players create, share, and download custom scenarios and mods at no extra cost. One popular fan-made add-on reimagines the threat as the Xenomorphs from the Alien franchise.
