What NDSI Does

NDSI is a full-featured diagnostic app for Nissan and Infiniti vehicles produced between 1989 and 2000 that are equipped with the grey 14-pin Consult I connector (typically found near the fuse box). It works with both petrol and diesel engines and talks to the engine ECU using the Consult II protocol, which provides deeper access than generic OBD-II or ISO9141 communications.

Main Capabilities

• A built-in video capture tool that records MP4 files alongside matching data logs; those log files can be combined with overlay tools like RaceRender to produce videos with live data overlays.
• A customizable instrument panel for a dashboard-style display with configurable gauges.
• Onboard self-test routines for reading fault codes and performing basic diagnostics.
• Live data screens with continuous logging of parameters for later analysis.

How to Connect

A Bluetooth or USB diagnostic adapter is required to link the app to the vehicle. USB interfaces based on FTDI or CH340 chipsets are known to be compatible. The app communicates with the engine ECU using Consult II, so make sure your car has the appropriate Consult I connector and wiring.
