Game summary
My Talking Tom is a virtual pet title starring the familiar talking cat from earlier Outfit7 apps. You look after Tom by feeding him, petting him, helping him use the toilet, putting him to sleep and entertaining him with mini-games. It combines the speaking-and-repeat mechanic of the original Talking Tom apps with more extensive pet-care systems similar to Pou.
Core interactions
The game keeps the classic feature where Tom mimics your voice in a higher pitch and responds to touch in different ways. Beyond that, you take on more of a caregiver role: choose his meals, change his outfits, decorate his home, and play short games to keep him amused. One older capability that’s not present here is the in-app video recorder — a feature some players miss.
Needs and how to satisfy them
Tom has meters that slowly decrease and must be replenished by performing the correct action. You can tap the corresponding icons to address each need:
- Sleep/tiredness — put Tom to bed and switch off the lights.
- Bathroom/bladder — take him to the toilet to refresh that meter.
- Food — feed him by dragging food to his mouth.
- Entertainment — pet him or play mini-games to restore fun.
These mechanics are introduced early in the game and are straightforward to learn.
Customization and mini-games
There’s more customization than in older Talking Tom titles: change fur styles, mix and match outfits, and decorate the house. Mini-games both entertain Tom and let you earn in-game currency. Examples include:
- Guess-the-outfit challenge — pick what Tom is wearing for a fun, kid-friendly activity.
- Whack-a-mole–style arcade play that rewards quick reflexes with coins.
- Space Piano — a fast-tap musical mini-game added in recent updates.
Playing these games helps refill Tom’s entertainment meter and gives you coins to buy items.
Progression and in-game economy
Coins are required to unlock many items and can be earned by playing or bought with real money. A leveling system tracks your progress: spend time caring for Tom and meeting his needs to gain experience and climb through many levels. Advancing unlocks new products and home decorations.
Social and exploration features
You can visit other players’ homes to see different decoration styles and occasionally find treasure chests scattered around that contain extra coins.
Visuals and characters
Graphically, Tom looks familiar — largely unchanged from Talking Tom Cat 2 — although you have more options to alter his appearance. The signature squeaky voice remains. Aside from Tom, other franchise characters (for example, Talking Angela or Talking Ben) do not appear in the gameplay.
New content and recent additions
Recent updates expanded level caps and added cosmetic and gameplay extras, such as:
- Diamond-patterned fur and seasonal accessories like a pumpkin hat.
- The ability to pair any outfit with any fur variation.
- A larger level cap (now up to 999) and the new Space Piano mini-game.
Final impression
If you enjoyed Talking Tom Cat or virtual-pet games like Pou, this title blends elements from both and should be enjoyable. Some players may find routine care tasks repetitive over long sessions, but the customization and mini-games add variety and goals to keep the experience engaging.
