Quick summary
Metronome X is a compact, feature-rich timekeeping tool designed to fit the needs of a wide range of musicians — from practice sessions to live performance prep. It offers flexible tempo settings, visual aids, and professional-level timing accuracy.
Core capabilities
Metronome X provides:
- High-resolution timing with precision measured in microseconds and audio output at studio-grade sample rates.
- A vast tempo span covering very slow to extremely fast speeds, including support for detailed subdivisions.
- Multiple time-signature options paired with a variety of subdivision choices for each meter.
- Visual tempo indicators that animate with the beat, plus options to mute or emphasize specific pulses.
Tempo and subdivision details
The app supports a broad BPM range (30–1040 BPM) so you can dial in anything from slow practice tempos to rapid passages. Each beat can be subdivided, giving precise rhythmic grid options to suit different practice goals.
Meters and emphasis
There are many meter presets available (28 distinct time signatures), and for each one you can select from up to a dozen subdivision patterns. You can also choose to accent particular beats or silence others to shape your rhythmic feel.
Visual and audible feedback
A clear counting animation provides an easy-to-follow visual representation of the beat, helping you internalize tempo changes. Sound options include normal clicks, accented hits, and muted pulses to tailor the sonic feedback.
Precision and audio specification
Timing accuracy is engineered to the microsecond level (10 µs) to ensure consistent beats, and the audio engine runs at a 96 kHz sample rate for clean, low-latency output.
