App summary
MCBackup — My Contact Backup is an iPhone utility created by Ravi Kotadiya to make saving and managing your address book simple and private. It performs backups locally on your device so there’s no need to upload contact data to any external server or connect to a computer.
Quick, local backups
With just a couple of taps you can export your whole contacts list and email the file to yourself. Exports are available in common formats (.vcf and .csv), letting you move or archive your contacts quickly without third‑party syncing.
Tidying your address book
- Consolidates repeated contact entries so you can keep one complete record instead of many fragmented ones.
- Removes entries that lack both a name and a phone number to keep the list clean.
- Detects redundant phone numbers and duplicate email addresses for easy cleanup.
- Finds and merges entries with similar or slightly different names to reduce clutter.
- Lets you filter contacts by recently added, job title, birthday and other criteria for targeted edits.
- Supports deleting and combining duplicate contacts in a few simple steps.
Restoring and sharing backups
You can restore vCard files and choose multiple contacts at once when importing. Backups are easy to share and the app provides interface translations in ten languages to accommodate non‑English users.
Privacy, interface and cost
All backup activity happens offline on the device, so your contact data never leaves your phone unless you choose to share it. The app is free to use and offers an intuitive, user‑friendly interface designed for quick setup and straightforward contact management.
