Luscious SMS is a small utility that lets you send text messages from your Mac even when your mobile phone isn't nearby. Before you try it, make sure the application supports your SMS gateway so it can relay messages through your carrier or service provider.

Quick send procedure

• Establish a connection to the gateway and sign in using your account credentials.
• Verify that the gateway you intend to use is supported by the app.
• Compose the text you want to send.
• Dispatch the message through the connected gateway.

• Smart splitting of long messages so they are segmented at logical breakpoints rather than cut mid-word.
• Seamless access to phone numbers stored in the Mac Address Book (contacts), making it fast to pick recipients.

Plugins and geographic support

Although there are plugins available from the developer’s site to add additional gateways, most of the gateways and extensions we found are primarily targeted at users in Switzerland. Wider international support is limited for the moment; hopefully future updates will broaden coverage to more countries.
