Story setup and setting
Ligaw is a free indie role-playing horror game that puts you in the shoes of a delivery driver in the Philippines who wanders into a disturbing, secret-filled location. Developed by Raven Studio, the title uses a first-person viewpoint to intensify the psychological unease as you uncover the site’s mysteries and encounter its menacing inhabitants.
How it plays
The core loop has you exploring a sequence of eerie environments, searching for keys, tools, and other items needed to survive and progress. Puzzles are scattered throughout the map—some objects are obvious, while others require careful searching or solving environmental clues. Controls and the user interface are kept straightforward, making the game accessible to both newcomers and experienced players.
Visuals and atmosphere
Despite being a student-made project, Ligaw leverages polished 3D visuals and realistic design touches to create a convincing, immersive world. The game frequently uses sparse lighting to heighten tension; while this strengthens the mood, it can also make certain characters or items hard to spot in shadowed areas, increasing the likelihood of missing clues that affect the story or gameplay.
Current state and future prospects
Ligaw is still under development, so patches and additional content are expected over time. The experience already delivers a gripping narrative and moments of genuine dread, and with continued refinement it shows strong potential to become even more frightening and polished.
