If you need smaller files or higher fidelity, LCF (LICEcap’s lossless format) offers better compression and color handling (up to ~265 colors per frame) and preserves timestamps.

Files saved as LCF can be played back in compatible tools (such as the developer’s REAPER utility) and converted to PNG, GIF, or JPG via command-line utilities. Because LCF is lossless, it’s preferable when you plan further processing or conversion before sharing.
