Premise and goal
Laser Dolphin tells an oddly specific tale: you pilot a laser-equipped dolphin on a mission to free the country's leader after extraterrestrials snatch him for study. The bizarre title hides a straightforward rescue plot — guide your aquatic hero through alien-infested zones to reach and save the Prime Minister.
Enemies and surprises
The seas are crowded with hostile creatures and machines, including:
- Cyborg sharks that patrol open water
- Rocket-equipped fish that launch projectiles
- Explosive-shelled turtles that detonate on impact
- Robotic birds swooping from above
- Electrified eels that stun on contact
Expect additional threats to appear unpredictably from concealed tunnels and secret openings, keeping each area lively and occasionally chaotic.
Levels and customization
Progression requires navigating four distinct worlds and completing fifty stages before you can confront the abductors directly. Individual levels tend to be fairly forgiving, which may explain why the developers included a built-in level editor — you can design your own stages and extend the game beyond the provided content.
Gameplay feel and presentation
Controls are uncomplicated and the art leans toward the charming side, making Laser Dolphin an enjoyable way to kill time. It’s pleasant and amusing rather than deep or groundbreaking: a solid casual diversion for short sessions.
