Turn your iPhone into a network drive
LAN Drive acts as an SMB (Samba) server that lets your iPhone behave like a network-mounted drive. Other devices on the same network can browse and access files stored on the phone, making it simple to share photos, documents, and media across computers and media players.
Compatible apps and clients
- Kodi
- VLC media player
- ES File Explorer
- Windows File Explorer
- Finder (macOS)
Use any of these programs to connect to the phone-hosted share and work with files directly from the remote device.
Server capabilities and client functions
LAN Drive provides two complementary modes:
- As a server, it exposes your iPhone’s file system over SMB so other systems can map, stream, or copy files from it.
- As a client, it can connect to external SMB servers, allowing you to browse remote shares and manage files (view, copy, paste, and transfer) from within the app.
These combined roles make it useful for both serving content and accessing network storage.
Speed limits and purchasing
The free/trial version restricts transfer throughput to about 0.5 MB/s. Upgrading to the paid version removes that cap and enables speeds up to roughly 50 MB/s, which — depending on your Wi‑Fi capabilities — can be as much as 100 times faster than the trial.
