Killing Floor 3

Killing Floor 3 is a fast-paced cooperative first-person shooter set in a grim near-future where you play as a Nightfall insurgent fighting waves of mutated Zeds. Levels emphasize close-quarters chaos and escalating tension, with enemy varieties that require crowd control, focused fire, or coordinated responses. The game offers a wide selection of weapons, progression that enables flexible loadouts, refined movement and shooting that favor kinetic combat, and cooperative play for up to four players. A recent update adds new weapons and modification options, introduces Zed bump physics that let players use movement-based attacks to knock back or incapacitate foes, and lets any Specialist access any Perk tree, gadget, and grenade while retaining prior Perk progress. At the same time, a capped self-heal and reports of frame-rate instability, crashes, and connection issues have affected some sessions. Overall, the title expands combat variety and accessibility with meaningful mechanical upgrades, but technical problems and certain design changes may disappoint longtime fans seeking deeper systems.

Zombies Overloaded

Zombies Overloaded is a frantic, arena-based wave shooter where you spawn into tight arenas, pick up dropped weapons on the fly, and survive increasingly dangerous hordes. Gameplay centers on rapid weapon swapping, ammo management, and pattern recognition as waves escalate and scripted boss encounters force tactical adaptation. Temporary power-ups and alternate rules—like freezing abilities, explosive ammo, rapid-fire boosts, or a Pacifism Mode with no weapons—change pacing and create short windows for aggressive or defensive play. The presentation leans into over-the-top neon gore and a pounding electronic soundtrack that accentuates the arcade feel. Its strengths are fast reflex-driven combat, varied weaponry, and memorable boss moments; its limitations include potentially repetitive arena layouts and reliance on short sessions, leaderboards, or personal goals to sustain long-term engagement.

Dusk

DUSK is a high‑speed, retro‑styled first‑person shooter that channels the look, feel, and momentum of mid‑1990s arena shooters. It emphasizes rapid movement, raw gunplay, responsive controls, and chunky, pixel-forward visuals paired with a pounding, moody soundtrack. Gameplay includes a self-contained episodic single‑player campaign with horror‑tinged atmosphere, imaginative and unsettling enemies, arena multiplayer, and an endless survival mode that offers replayable challenges and tense combat encounters. The design leans heavily on nostalgia: players who enjoyed classic 90s shooters will appreciate the difficulty curve, old‑school mechanics, and frantic pacing, while newcomers may find the style and challenge off‑putting. Overall, it’s a focused, adrenaline‑charged homage that modernizes select elements without losing the retro spirit.

Suicide Squad: Special Ops

Suicide Squad: Special Ops is a first-person shooter inspired by the film that lets you play as notorious antiheroes—Harley Quinn (chaotic close-range combat), Deadshot (precise long-range firepower), and Diablo (explosive area control). Players face escalating waves of enemies, scavenge for ammo, weapon upgrades, and health, and learn each character’s unique skills to create powerful synergies and survive tougher encounters while progressing and upgrading their loadouts. The game also offers competitive multiplayer arenas and seasonal leaderboards to test squads against other players, plus tools to record and share highlight clips. It channels the movie’s irreverent tone, memorable personalities, and high-energy action for players who enjoy fast, character-driven, villainous chaos.

Dr. Gloom’s Lab™

Dr. Gloom’s Lab is a solo-developed first-person horror survival shooter that puts you in the shoes of Jaxon Blair as he explores a deranged scientist’s facility, uncovers dark experiments, and fights grotesque mutated creatures. Gameplay emphasizes exploration, resource management, and tense combat in claustrophobic, labyrinthine environments where supplies are scarce and narrative details are revealed through notes and recordings; atmospheric visuals and sound design amplify the dread. The game appeals to players who enjoy solitary, story-forward horror and methodical survival challenges; expect tight encounters that reward planning and quick reflexes. It does not offer multiplayer or co-op, so those seeking social or cooperative horror experiences should look for faster-paced, roguelike or more action-oriented shooters as alternatives.

Nex Machina

Nex Machina is a high-intensity arcade shooter built around short, electrifying stages that reward quick reflexes, precise aiming, and pattern recognition. Players navigate compact levels filled with relentless enemy waves and hazards, collect temporary weapons and buffs, and aim to improve scores through mastery of enemy behaviors and varied level layouts. The presentation leans on neon-infused visuals, dense particle effects, and a pulse-pounding soundtrack to reinforce the rapid pace. The game emphasizes score-chasing and competitive play, with leaderboards and multiplayer elements that encourage optimizing runs and social rivalry. It’s well suited to fans of tight controls, fast encounters, and replayable score-attack experiences, and less appealing to players seeking deep narratives or slower-paced shooters.

Escape Floor 13

Escape Floor 13 is a premium simulation horror that traps you on a sinister thirteenth floor where your sole objective is to find a way out. The core loop forces you to repeatedly ride an elevator, disembark, cross a corridor and reboard the elevator on the opposite side, creating a tense rhythm of cautious movement, sensing anomalies, and backing away when a paranormal presence appears. Moody, shadow-heavy visuals, subtle audio cues and occasional loud jump scares combine with erratic anomalies to produce a claustrophobic, slow-burn psychological-horror experience. The game leans heavily on that single mechanic rather than narrative depth, so replay variety comes mainly from randomized encounters rather than evolving story or new systems. It’s best for players who enjoy sustained atmosphere and anxiety-inducing repetition; those seeking a rich plot or complex objectives may prefer more narrative-driven or varied alternatives such as cooperative paranormal investigations or psychological art-horror titles, or a calming simulator between tense sessions.

Ultimate Zombie Defense 2

Ultimate Zombie Defense 2 is a first-person, four-player cooperative shooter that mixes wave-based combat with a light base-building layer. Players survive escalating waves of undead, buy and customize weapons between rounds, and deploy defensive equipment like automated turrets, mines, and barbed wire to fortify positions and create choke points. The core loop is straightforward and social: coordinate with teammates, place defenses, upgrade gear, and fend off tougher enemy types and bosses as encounters grow more intense. The game excels as a compact, social sandbox—cooperative play, base construction, and a wide selection of firearms and attachments make encounters tactical and replayable, amplified by a high-energy metal soundtrack. It’s held back by somewhat imprecise, sluggish shooting, a repetitive progression loop, and occasional AI and trap-placement issues that can undermine teamwork. Fans of cooperative wave shooters will likely enjoy it most when playing with friends.

Evil Dead: The Game

Evil Dead: The Game is an action-horror title adapted from Sam Raimi’s cult franchise that blends cooperative PvE with competitive multiplayer. Players can team up in four-player co-op to survive waves of Deadites and complete objectives, or take the role of the Kandarian Demon to hunt and corrupt survivors. The roster includes series favorites such as Ash Williams, Kelly Maxwell and Scotty, and gameplay features weapons like shotguns, chainsaws and a variety of melee and ranged tools for grisly finishes. Emphasizing the films’ mix of dark humor and visceral horror, it offers faithful character portrayals, cinematic gore and tense cooperative runs alongside chaotic PvP, appealing to both longtime fans and newcomers.

Quartermaster

Quartermaster is a cooperative first-person shooter set in a neon-soaked cyberpunk metropolis where up to four players team up to repel waves of hostile robots. The game blends fast-paced action with tactical planning: inventory and loadout choices matter as much as aim, and environmental hazards and shifting battle conditions force teams to adapt mid-mission. Success depends on communication and role specialization—deciding who brings heavy firepower, who handles crowd-control, and who reserves consumables. With varied weapons, deployable traps, dynamic encounters, and meaningful trade-offs between supplies and firepower, it appeals to players who enjoy teamwork-driven shooters that balance quick reflexes with careful preparation.

X-Ray Multiplayer Extension Mod

X-Ray Multiplayer Extension Mod is a community-made campaign that reimagines S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat as a cooperative PvE experience where players team up to survive waves of mutants and environmental threats. It uses familiar models, weapons, and mechanics from the original game so the feel and pacing stay recognizable, but shifts emphasis to teamwork and survival rather than competitive play. The mod preserves and repurposes artifact effects, changing tactical choices in group play, and is known for reliable multiplayer performance with built-in lobby guidance and support for custom maps. Since release it has expanded beyond the original defense mode with additional game modes and community content, making it easy to play with friends in cooperative online sessions.

STALCRAFT

STALCRAFT is a free-to-play MMO first-person shooter set in a haunted Exclusion Zone that blends survival-horror, open-world exploration, and RPG-style progression. It supports cooperative PvE and competitive PvP, with artifact hunting, mutant encounters, faction conflict, and customizable weapons, gear, and vehicles. Combat emphasizes physics-driven movement and environmental interaction, while progression unlocks higher-tier equipment, cosmetics, and specialized roles; players can also customize a personal hideout for resting, crafting, and storing loot. A major anniversary update expands playable regions, adds new faction-driven questlines, redesigned artifacts, mutants, costumes, and visual polish across environments, plus new infected zones, safe resource-mining in bases, a tough survival trial, Territory and Outpost capture mechanics, improved AI and animations, and various usability and social improvements. The game will appeal to players who enjoy atmospheric shooters with deep worldbuilding, cooperative PvE, faction-driven PvP, and long-term progression.
