Is it dark outside? is a free lifestyle app for iPhone created by Dirk Malorny. It gives a fast yes-or-no answer about whether it is currently dark at your location, plus related time and location details.

Key features

The app checks your current position and time zone to determine darkness for your area. It also displays:

• the present date and time
• your detected location
• today’s sunrise and sunset times

How it works

After opening the app it reads your device’s location and clock to decide whether it’s dark. The main screen delivers a simple, immediate response so you can check lighting conditions at a glance.

VoiceOver and accessibility

• Built-in support for users with visual impairments: when VoiceOver is active, tap the center of the screen after launching the app to hear a spoken "YES" or "NO".
