Heart graph on iPhone
The iPhone’s heart graph displays your heartbeat as a continuous chart. It collects live pulse measurements and can also pull previously recorded readings from the device’s HealthKit repository.
Data sources and collection
- Live heart-rate readings are captured in real time during monitoring sessions.
- Past measurements stored in HealthKit may be imported to appear alongside current data.
How the visualization is produced
A smooth spline interpolator is applied to the heart-rate points to create a flowing line, which is then rendered as the on-screen chart. This smoothing is a visual technique used to make the trace easier to read.
Customization options
- Import historical data from HealthKit to extend the displayed timeline.
- Adjust the spline smoothing level to change how sharply the trace follows raw measurements.
- Set the frequency of live updates to control how often new points appear.
- Change display preferences such as units or color themes for the graph.
Important notice
This chart is a graphical representation for monitoring and presentation purposes only. It is not intended to serve as a medical or scientific diagnostic model and should not replace professional medical evaluation.
