Quick overview
Guts and Glory is a slapstick racing game built around exaggerated, cartoon-style violence. Players guide a family through hazardous courses packed with traps and hostile road users, where both skillful driving and spectacular crashes are part of the entertainment.
How the game plays
The action often begins with a father and son pedaling a bicycle down a hazardous course. Your job is to steer them across jumps, avoid hazards, and survive traps such as spinning blades and spiked wreckage. Crashes are intentionally over-the-top: failed runs commonly produce flying limbs and gruesome-but-comedic dismemberment, making defeat as memorable as victory.
Vehicles, competition, and scoring
As you earn points you unlock new rides: family sedans, sporty cars, and quad bikes become available, changing how you approach obstacles. Points are awarded for forward progress and aggressive tactics — for example, flattening rival racers nets extra score — while you must also dodge attempts by others to eliminate you. The objective remains simple: endure the chaos and cross the finish line first, no matter how much damage you or your virtual family sustain.
Build your own challenges
A built-in level editor lets players design custom stages and populate them with traps, ramps, and hazards. This mode extends replayability by letting creators experiment with novel layouts and share or replay bespoke deathtraps.
Content advisory and technical notes
- Some platforms experience load failures or platform-specific stability issues.
- The game is an early release in several builds and still shows bugs and rough edges.
- While the subject matter involves family members being injured, the presentation is intentionally cartoony rather than realistic; however, that style may still be upsetting to some players.
Suggested alternative
If you prefer a different tone or a paid experience, consider trying Mr. President! — a paid title recommended as an alternative.
