Quick summary
GrammarBot is a standalone spelling and grammar helper built to run without internet access. It’s intended mainly for macOS machines with Apple silicon (M1, M2, M3) and helps polish English writing before sending messages, posting on social platforms, or composing emails.
Intended users
- People who prefer to proofread privately on their own device
- macOS users using Apple M1/M2/M3 systems
- Anyone wanting a simple way to tidy up short-form content like posts or chat messages
How it operates
The app runs a local large language model on your machine, so all suggestions are generated on-device. After downloading the initial AI model, the program functions offline and provides grammar and spelling corrections in a familiar, assistant-like workflow.
Cost and support
- One-time purchase unlocks lifetime use of the software
- Includes one year of updates and email-based help after purchase
Privacy and security
Because the correction engine and model are stored locally, no text is transmitted to external servers. This design prioritizes user privacy and keeps writing data on the device.
Common use cases
- Refining quick messages and chats
- Preparing LinkedIn updates and short social posts
- Final proofreading for emails
