A Fresh Take on a Classic-Style Adventure
Gibbous is a modern point-and-click adventure that affectionately lampoons the Cthulhu Mythos. It mixes wholesome, feel-good humor with hints of cosmic horror and pays tribute to the golden era of adventure games while keeping its own contemporary tone.
Story and Characters
The plot centers on Buzz Kerwan, a laid-back librarian who stumbles upon a notoriously dangerous grimoire—the Necronomicon—which contains a variety of eldritch rituals. After an ill-fated experiment, he inadvertently grants his cat, nicknamed Kitteh, the power of speech.
You can switch between three playable protagonists: Buzz, a hard-boiled detective named Don R. Retype, and the newly articulate Kitteh. Together they explore a richly illustrated, Lovecraft-flavored world and slowly peel back a web of ancient conspiracies.
What You’ll Experience
- A lighthearted spin on cosmic horror that leans into jokes and affectionate references rather than pure dread.
