App summary
Gallery is a free media manager from Infinity Studio LLC that helps you organize the photos and videos already stored on your device. It automatically detects existing media — no manual import required — and displays them similarly to your device’s default gallery.
Permissions and first-run setup
To manage files correctly, the app requires permission to read your device storage. You can grant this access the first time you open Gallery. After permission is given, the app will present your photos and videos in the same manner as the native gallery app.
Ways to organize your media
- Mark items as favorites for quick access
- Switch between grid and list layouts to suit your viewing preference
- Create new folders to group related photos and videos
- Place sensitive images and clips into a private vault for added privacy
- Browse media by geotags to find pictures taken at specific locations
Duplicate detection and “recovery” tool
Gallery includes a duplicate scanner that looks through multimedia files, documents, and other stored items for copies so you can remove unnecessary duplicates directly from the app. It also offers a recovery-photo option, but this does not restore deleted or missing images. Instead, it creates a new copy of the selected picture and stores that copy in a newly created folder.
Editing and video functions
The app provides a handful of basic editing tools — flip, rotate, and zoom — alongside a few stylized effects labeled cube, accordion, and depth page. In practice, those advanced effects are unreliable, and even if usable, only one effect can be applied at a time. Gallery does not include video editing features; it can only play videos saved on your device.
Strengths and weaknesses
- Pros: Flexible organization options (custom folders, multiple view modes, private vault) and a built-in duplicate finder make it useful for routine media maintenance.
- Cons: The photo recovery feature is misleading, advanced photo effects are inconsistent or nonfunctional, and there is no video editing capability.
Bottom line
Gallery works well for basic media management thanks to its customizable layout and privacy options. However, its recovery and advanced editing features are unreliable, so expect to rely on it primarily for organization and simple viewing rather than for restoring files or performing complex edits.
