What Flaex does
Flaex is a macOS utility for quickly pulling multimedia elements out of Flash (SWF) files. Open a SWF, and the app displays all extractable assets so you can examine and export them without digging through the original source.
Getting started
Open the File menu and choose Open, then pick the SWF you want to inspect. Once loaded, Flaex will populate its interface with every resource it can extract so you can begin reviewing and saving items immediately.
Ways to browse assets
- Compact thumbnails for fast visual scanning
- A comprehensive list view for detailed information about each item
You can switch between these modes depending on whether you want a quick preview or a closer look at file details.
Exporting and preview features
- Drag any item out of the app to export it to the desktop or a folder of your choice
- Use the Save All Resources command to export every extractable asset at once
Flaex includes a Quick Look–style window that opens selected resources in their own preview panes, and it also plays audio files directly inside the application for immediate listening.
Supported file types
- FLV
- PCM
- MP3
- GIF
- PNG
- JPEG
(The app recognizes common image, audio, and video formats embedded in SWF files.)
