DjVu support for FBReader
The FBReader DjVu extension lets FBReader open and display DjVu documents directly inside the app. It integrates into the FBReader interface so you can view DjVu files without switching to a separate reader. Because it runs as a plugin rather than a standalone program, you won’t see a separate icon for it — its features are accessible only from within FBReader.
To use the extension your device must be running FBReader version 2.1 or later on Android.
Benefits and key features
- Smooth handling of DjVu documents so pages render correctly inside FBReader
- Operates quietly in the background, avoiding extra home-screen icons
- Tight integration with FBReader’s existing controls and layout
- Expands the range of file types FBReader can open without complicating the menu
Requirements and usage tips
- FBReader app, version 2.1 or newer (Android)
- Install the plugin through FBReader’s add-on manager or by sideloading the compatible package
- Open a DjVu file in FBReader and the plugin will take care of displaying it
- No separate launcher entry — access is via FBReader’s file/open dialogs and reader screens
Other option to consider
Amani Thafseer 2.0 (Free) is a different, freely available application you might try if you need alternate reading features or content. It presents its functionality within its own interface and may be a better fit when you want a standalone reader tailored to its specific material.
