Digital document wallet for people in Tamil Nadu

E-Pettagam is a complimentary digital wallet app offered by the Government of Tamil Nadu that lets residents store and manage important credentials. It uses blockchain-backed certificates to protect documents and enable verified sharing with employers, academic institutions, and other authorized parties.

Types of records you can keep

  • TN State Board credentials — for example, 10th, 11th and 12th mark sheets and certificates
  • 24 eSevai-issued documents — such as Community, Nativity and First Graduate certificates

How sharing and verification works

You remain in control: the app requires your explicit permission before any document is shared. When you grant access, E-Pettagam creates a secure verification link that you can send to a verifier by email, WhatsApp or SMS. The recipient opens the link on the Blockchain Certificate Portal, where the document’s authenticity and integrity are checked against the blockchain.

Why use this app

Because the wallet is government-provided and uses blockchain verification, it reduces the need for physical documents and the risk of tampering. It’s designed to make credential exchange quick and reliable for situations like job applications, academic admissions and other official checks.
