DriverStore Explorer is a compact, free utility that simplifies handling the Windows driver store. Built by Teddy Zhang and released as open-source software, it makes common driver maintenance tasks quick and straightforward while remaining portable — no full installation is required. Keep in mind you’ll need appropriate system prerequisites (see below) to take full advantage of its features.

What you can do with the tool

• Force-remove stubborn driver packages when normal deletion fails
• Remove one or many drivers to free up disk space
• Install or add driver packages to the store
• Enumerate all driver packages currently mounted in the driver store
• Export the complete driver list to a CSV file for backup or review

Setup and requirements

• Run the program with administrator privileges to unlock all features and avoid limited functionality
• Ensure Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0 or later (commonly shown as .NET 4.0+) is installed on the PC
• The application is portable and does not require a traditional installation; download and run the executable

Getting started (beginners)

1. Launch the executable with elevated rights.
2. You’ll see a comprehensive list of driver packages currently in the driver store.
3. Use the provided controls to add or install new packages, delete selected items, or force-remove entries that won’t uninstall normally.
4. Select multiple drivers at once to remove them in a single operation if desired.
5. Save the displayed list as a CSV file for documentation or further analysis.
