Star Wars joins the Disney roster
Disney Infinity 3.0 expands the toy-to-life universe by bringing Star Wars characters into the mix alongside classic Disney and Marvel figures such as Mickey Mouse, Elsa, Anna, Iron Man, and Captain America. The latest edition continues the franchise’s approach of linking physical collectible figures with in-game content.
Worlds and playsets included
- The Awakening of the Force — a playset inspired by the newest chapter of the saga.
- Rise Against the Empire — adventures set during the original trilogy’s conflict.
- Twilight of the Republic — missions from the prequel-era struggles.
- Inside Out — a playset built around Pixar’s emotion-filled film.
- A Marvel-themed set — expanding superhero content within the experience.
Toy Box: mix, create, and compete
The Toy Box mode returns as the open-ended playground where characters from different franchises can interact. This sandbox allows players to design races, minigames, and custom challenges, giving far more freedom than the fixed playset experiences.
How the system works
Disney Infinity 3.0 keeps the same core model as previous titles: a base game and starter content are available, while additional characters and levels are unlocked by purchasing the corresponding physical figures. Think of the figurines as tangible DLC — buy a toy, and its digital counterpart becomes playable.
Who this is for and release information
With a new Star Wars film from J.J. Abrams and more mature titles like Star Wars Battlefront on the horizon, Disney Infinity 3.0 positions itself as an appealing option for younger fans and collectors who enjoy both the toys and the gameplay. The PC version was scheduled for release in fall 2015. If you’re looking for an earlier entry, Disney Infinity 2.0 for Windows 10 remains an available option to try.
