Quick summary
Desktop Weather is a combined wallpaper and screensaver that paints your desktop with live weather imagery. It can show conditions for your current location or for any city you select, and includes a small weather widget for short-term forecasts.
Getting started
- Pick the location you want displayed first — you can set it to your current place or any other city.
- Add any extra locations you check regularly so they’re available at a glance.
- Choose whether the program should apply the wallpaper and screensaver automatically or if you prefer to do that yourself.
- Adjust a few personal preferences, then let the app update the desktop image to match the real-time conditions.
What you can customize
- A compact seven-day forecast widget that can show local weather or the forecast for any place you choose.
- The weather readout appears in the top-right corner of the screen; time zone details can be turned on and tailored to your liking.
- Display options and behavior are straightforward and simple to modify to suit your workflow.
Alternative option
- Desktop Weather Free — a no-cost variant to try if you want a lightweight alternative before committing.
Exiting the program
- To remove the wallpaper/screensaver, right-click the program’s icon in the system tray and select “Exit.”
Notes and limitations
- The visuals are fun and generally accurate, though images may look slightly soft or blurred on certain monitors. Overall it’s a pleasant way to keep the forecast visible without opening a separate app.
