Cyclops — Driver Safety & Camera Alerts
Cyclops is a road-safety application that warns drivers about both fixed speed cameras (verified by professionals) and mobile camera reports contributed by the app’s user community. It provides direction-aware detection to reduce spurious alerts, and delivers up-to-date speed-limit and overspeed notifications to help you stay within legal limits.
What makes it reliable
- Uses direction-sensitive waypoint detection to confirm which way you’re traveling, reducing false positives.
- Professionally maintained database of permanent camera locations combined with live, community-sourced mobile camera reports.
- Automatic data updates so maps and camera locations stay current across supported regions.
Key safety tools
- A customizable speed limiter so you can set an upper speed threshold and receive a warning when exceeded.
- Real-time overspeed alerts and speed-limit notifications to keep you informed of the current limit.
- An in-app GPS speedometer and digital compass to make it easy to check your speed and heading on the go.
Coverage and community benefits
Cyclops covers more than 140,000 camera sites across 59 countries and has a large active user base. When you’re driving you can see how many fellow users are ahead of you, report new camera positions to help others, and earn reputation points for contributing accurate reports.
Price, trials and regional packs
A free trial is available for 14 days. After the trial, coverage for the UK and Ireland is available for a low annual fee of £2.99. Additional country and regional packages can be purchased separately so you can protect yourself wherever you travel.
Important battery note
Continued use of GPS in the background can noticeably reduce battery life. If conserving battery is critical, consider limiting background GPS use or closing the app when it’s not required.
