What this tool lets you do
ChanSort is a free utility that lets you organize your television channel lineup from a Windows PC instead of wrestling with the TV remote. It reads and edits channel lists for a number of popular TV makes, displays each entry in a clear table, and lets you rearrange, hide, or protect channels with simple drag-and-drop and checkbox controls.

Why edit channels on a computer
Using the TV's built-in menu to reorder or lock many channels can be slow and error-prone. Working from a desktop gives you a visual overview, faster reordering, and easier bulk changes. It’s especially helpful when you have long channel lists or want to maintain multiple channel profiles.
Core features
- Drag channels to new positions, rename them, and change their visibility.
- Lock specific channels and mark favorites to control access and quick tuning.
- Export and import channel lists so you can backup setups or switch between profiles.
- Detailed channel view that shows frequency, logical number, and other metadata.
How to save your edits and transfer them back to the TV
- After making changes, save your modified list in the program.
- Follow the program’s export instructions to write the updated list to a USB flash drive in the correct format.
- Insert the USB stick into the TV and use the TV’s channel-import function (refer to your TV’s manual if needed) to load the new lineup.
