What Cemantik Does
Cemantik is a word-guessing app for Android created by Mathieu Pierfitte. Instead of comparing words by letters, Cemantik measures how closely two words relate in meaning and context. Your objective is to identify the secret word before the timer expires.
How guesses are evaluated
Each guess you submit receives a similarity score that ranges from -100% to 100%, indicating how near your guess is to the hidden word in contextual terms rather than spelling. The faster and more accurately you narrow the context, the better your chances of finding the target before time runs out.
Game modes and core features
- Daily puzzles with a rotating selection of secret words, offered in both English and French and spanning a range of difficulties.
- A weekly challenge where the scoring is concealed, increasing the mystery and difficulty of discovering the secret term.
- Detailed player statistics showing how many people solved each secret word and the average number of attempts required.
- A victory certificate you can export and share to show off a successful round.
Multiplayer, achievements and leaderboards
- Subscribers can play in real time with teammates; words tested by your team are visible to each other while opponents’ progress stays hidden.
- The game supports achievements and global leaderboards through Game Center, letting you compare results and compete with others.
Important technical note
Cemantik requires a continuous internet connection in order to test words and retrieve scoring data. Plan to be online while playing.
Alternative recommendation
If you want another free option with a different theme, consider K-Word 1000 — a Korean-themed word game that some players enjoy as an alternative.
