The story pits you against the twin Calypso leaders, a pair of charismatic villains who rally followers and spread chaos across the galaxy. Their agenda directly opposes the Vault Hunters’ goal of protecting worlds and restoring order. In addition to the Calypsos’ human cultists, expect aggressive fauna and engineered monstrosities — from fire-spewing drakes to swarms of arachnid-like creatures — that will complicate every mission.

• Beastmaster — a primal combatant who commands animals or summoned allies to overwhelm foes.

Each class offers distinct abilities and playstyles; experimenting with them will reveal synergies and strategies.

Cooperative play and equipment

Borderlands 3 encourages teaming up: cooperative matches let players combine class strengths to tackle tougher encounters. Weapons, mods, and gear not only boost damage but also enhance or modify abilities, letting you tailor builds for crowd control, burst damage, or support roles. Expect deep customization that rewards creative loadouts and teamwork.
