Brief overview

Bleaklight Falls is a dark-fantasy, hack-and-slash RPG on PC from indie studio Patticus. You play as Meelu, a resident of Bleaklight, who must repel monstrous incursions driven by a spreading corruption known as the Dreadblight. The game combines fast-paced combat with strategic base protection and takes place in a sizable world filled with hidden loot and secrets.

World and mission

The central goal is to protect the village of Bleaklight and its people. Monsters arrive in waves, and your job is to keep them from overrunning the settlement while also hunting down the source of the Dreadblight. The environment includes mines, forests, and other explorable areas where artifacts and resources are hidden.

Combat and defensive systems

Bleaklight Falls blends real-time melee and ranged combat with tower-defense style gameplay. While you take the fight to enemies on the front line, you’ll also construct and upgrade defensive structures around the village to slow or stop advancing hordes. Decisions about where to place and which towers to prioritize add a tactical layer to the action.

Exploration, crafting, and NPCs

During daylight hours you can scavenge the surrounding wilderness for materials needed to craft and improve towers, gear, and utility items. Villagers have individual backstories and can contribute their skills to crafting and upgrades. Rare enemies can drop unique equipment that grants special perks and changes how your character plays.

Character growth and customization

Progression uses a Mastery Point system spread across four distinct skill trees. By allocating points you can tailor Meelu to different roles and playstyles, creating combinations of abilities that fit stealthy, defensive, or aggressive approaches.
