App snapshot
Bal Pitara is a free early-learning application created to support the developmental needs of children aged about 3 to 6 years. It helps caregivers and educators teach foundational knowledge at home or in preschool settings, promoting sensory, motor, social and cognitive growth through play, exploration and interaction.
Who can use it
- Anganwadi Worker — a community childcare provider who delivers supplemental health, nutrition and early‑childhood services.
- Teachers working in pre-school or early childhood programs.
- Parents and primary caregivers guiding learning at home.
Getting started and available languages
To unlock the app’s full functionality you must register for an account and select the role that best matches your involvement (see above). The interface is provided in both English and Hindi to accommodate a wider range of users.
Child profiles and progress tracking
- Create separate profiles for every child you are supporting so you can monitor individual learning.
- View weekly progress summaries and assessment reports for each profile, including visual charts that show demographic and achievement overviews.
- Add as many learner profiles as needed and locate them quickly using the Search feature.
Learning materials and format
- Stories and short narratives designed to build imagination and language skills.
- Rhymes and chants to support vocabulary, pronunciation and rhythm.
- Hands-on activities that are simple to follow and grounded in a child’s physical and social environment; these encourage parental involvement in the learning process.
Note: the app includes a sizable set of rhymes and stories (several dozen items in each collection) alongside practical activity guides.
Why caregivers and teachers use it
Bal Pitara acts as a practical resource to reinforce early learning outside the classroom. It offers age-appropriate content, tools for tracking development, and materials that encourage children to explore, play and interact with peers — making it useful for parents, preschool teachers and Anganwadi workers alike.
