Azan — Your Daily Prayer Companion
Azan is an iPhone application built to help Muslims keep track of their daily worship. It combines accurate prayer schedules, guidance toward the qibla, a Hijri calendar, and customizable alarm notifications in a single, easy-to-use app.
What you’ll see on the main screen
The home view gives a quick snapshot of your prayer routine:
- A countdown showing how much time remains until the next prayer.
- The instant Qibla direction shown with a compass overlay.
- The list of today's prayer times for easy reference.
Core features
- Customizable prayer notifications that play full Adhan recordings.
- A complete Islamic calendar for tracking dates and events.
- A live Qibla compass that uses your device orientation to point toward Mecca.
- Accurate prayer time calculations tailored to your current location.
How prayer times are calculated
Azan determines prayer times using GPS coordinates so the timings match your exact location. If you prefer, you can switch off GPS and choose any city worldwide to compute times manually. The app supports five widely used calculation methods, letting you pick the one that matches your school of thought or local practice.
Languages and recitations
The app adapts to device language settings and supports both Arabic and English displays. Prayer alerts use local notifications and include high-quality Adhan recitations performed by well-known reciters, for example:
- Nasir Al-Qatami
- Sheikh Mishary Alafasy
Cost and getting help
Most functionality is available at no charge, though some features may request user support to help ongoing development. If you run into problems or want to give feedback, the developer’s email is accessible from within the app. If you appreciate the app, consider leaving a positive rating on the App Store to support continued improvements.
