Atua brings ChatGPT-style assistance to your Mac with a single keyboard shortcut. It eliminates the need to switch apps: highlight text anywhere, press the hotkey, and Atua handles the rest — from refining wording to expanding ideas.

How it works

Select text in any macOS application, invoke the assigned shortcut, and a small interface appears where Atua processes the selection using your OpenAI credentials. The interaction is designed to be fast and unobtrusive so you can stay focused on the task at hand.

Requirements and platform roadmap

Atua runs on macOS (Mac OS X and newer). An OpenAI API key is required to enable the language features. The team plans to add native Windows and Linux builds in later releases.

Privacy and storage

All user data is kept on the local machine by default to protect privacy and minimize exposure to third-party servers. Only your device stores conversation history unless you opt to export or sync it elsewhere.
