Product snapshot
AirServer is a commercial screencasting application that turns a projector or large display into a universal screen-mirroring receiver. It provides an unrestricted 30-day trial so you can test all features without functional limits. Like dedicated hardware such as Apple TV or Chromecast, it accepts streams from multiple casting protocols and can host several connections at the same time.
Supported casting protocols
- Miracast
- Google Cast
- AirPlay
AirServer acts as a receiver for these standards, letting you accept streams from smartphones, tablets, laptops, and other devices.
Devices that can mirror to a display
- Chromebook
- Windows 10 computer
- Mac
- iPad
- iPhone
- Android handset
You can mirror from most modern phones, tablets, laptops, and Chromebooks, making it useful in classrooms, conference rooms, and for gaming sessions.
Quick setup and basic use
- Download and install the lightweight AirServer application on the target machine or media player.
- Launch the app — it generally takes only a couple of minutes to be ready to accept connections.
- From a Windows 10 sender, press Windows key + K to open the Connect panel, select the receiver named “AirServer,” then choose Connect.
- On other platforms, use the native casting or screen-mirroring controls to find and connect to the AirServer receiver.
No physical cables are required — everything streams over the network.
Limitations and system requirements
- Mirroring directly from Windows 10 to macOS is not supported.
- For Miracast, at least one side (sender or receiver) must have a Miracast-compatible Wi‑Fi adapter.
- The app can demand relatively high system resources depending on resolution and number of simultaneous streams; meeting the recommended hardware specs ensures a smooth experience.
- Up to nine devices can be connected and active at once, allowing multi-user scenarios.
Advanced features
- Picture-in-picture webcam overlay for presenters.
- Native support for live streaming to platforms such as YouTube Live.
- Improved image quality and reduced latency compared with many basic mirroring tools.
Performance and recommendation
When installed on a machine that meets its requirements, AirServer delivers professional-grade mirroring for both video and still content. It’s a strong choice if you need a versatile, multi-protocol receiver that’s more feature-rich than many single-purpose alternatives.
