What the app does
Against the Horde is a fan-made companion for players of Magic: The Gathering that focuses on cooperative "horde" play. It helps groups coordinate to face an automated opponent deck and comes packaged with seven ready-to-play horde decks. The tool is intended to support the tabletop horde format rather than replace players’ physical card collections.
How you play
- Team up with friends to battle a computer-controlled horde deck that follows scripted behaviors.
- Build your own custom horde or load challenges that other community members have shared to vary the experience.
- Use the included pre-built hordes when you want a quick setup, or mix and match to increase replay value.
Decks and technical requirements
The app is a management companion for the horde format (which began around 2011) and assumes each participant brings their own paper Magic cards. It does not provide or replace physical cards; instead it automates the horde’s actions and tracks game state to streamline cooperative sessions.
Licensing and payment options
This project is an unofficial fan creation released under applicable fan content terms and is not an official product of Wizards of the Coast. Additional functionality is available via paid options, including both recurring monthly subscriptions and one-time purchase choices.
