ABHA mobile app gets a fresh redesign from the National Health Authority
The National Health Authority (NHA) has released a redesigned version of the ABHA (Ayushman Bharat Health Account) mobile app as part of the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM). The updated application features a modernized user interface and expanded capabilities that make it easier for Indian residents to create and manage their ABHA addresses (in the format username@abdm) and to interact with their health information across the ABDM ecosystem.
What’s different in the new release
The updated app provides a continuous, longitudinal view of an individual’s health data, allowing records to be connected across multiple providers and facilities once the user gives permission. Key improvements include a cleaner UI, streamlined registration flows, and new tools to link, share, and manage health records securely over the ABDM network.
Main features
- Share your health documents and records with registered practitioners, hospitals, and health programmes after giving consent.
- View consolidated health information such as lab results, prescriptions, and CoWIN vaccination certificates in one place.
- Create a memorable ABHA address using a mobile number, an email, or the 14-digit ABHA identifier.
Account control and privacy tools
- Update profile details (for example, address) and change the mobile number or email on file with OTP verification to confirm the update.
- Revoke previously granted permissions at any time to stop further sharing of selected health records.
- Retain ownership and full control over who can access your health data by managing permissions through the app.
Languages, availability and how to get the app
The ABHA app is currently available in Hindi and English, with additional language support coming soon. Users are encouraged to update the app from the Google Play Store to benefit from the latest features and performance enhancements.
