What's happening?

error on conversion

I get a message saying that MMConvert has encountered a serious problem and needs to close. I get it no matter what type of conversion I have tried. It seems it gets most of the way through the file, then errs. I had been using MMConvert on this computer previously, but had to reinstall some stuff. I did uninstall and re-install MMConvert from a new download. Some behaviour. Any advice...

freezes on splash screen still

I was starting to use this, and I was liking it. One day it just wouldn't go past the splash screen, and I'm fairly sure it was after I updated to 0.9.3.1. I have tried re installing, and tried the .jar file instead of the binary (I'm on mac os 10.3) and when I did that, when it launched it put me into the setup, then froze in the same place. I'm hoping I have the right log below:
