Attached is a trivial and ugly patch to make SERIES pay attention to fill-pointers (as requested in #2295778). There is probably a cleaner approach, but I leave that in the hands of the SERIES maintainers.

Disabling key repeat initially appears to work on X11, but on some systems a key held for several seconds will show some repeats, as for whatever reason the timestamps will be slightly different between the press/release events. The attached patch fixes this problem. Tested on Linux/x86 and Linux/PPC.
