I'm having the same problem.
it's happening very near the beggining (around 9h30 first
day on new game), the first mission has not appeared usually.
it seems that the night sliding shadow turns white and then,
a jiffie after the full geoscape turns white. Entering the
base, by clicking blind on the geoscape, show the same white
on the base part.
