Yes, that's the message I'm seeing in the status window.
gtk version: 1.2.8
glib version: 1.2.8
rm -rf ~/.tradeclient didn't help
SMTP server: Exim 3.13.

I've noticed that the error I get back from the SMTP server is:
501 <INVALID_ADDRESS@.SYNTAX-ERROR.>: domain missing or malformed
Does this mean that tradeclient is literally specifying "INVALID_ADDRESS@.SYNTAX-ERROR." as the address?
Also, regarding my original problem (nothing happens at all on SMTP send) - this problem keeps coming back! I have to keep bringing up...

The hostname looked OK, but I erased it and retyped it anyway. And now it connects to the server OK. But... I either get an error from the server saying that the syntax of the recipient address is invalid (it isn't when I type it in), or if I don't get an error the email disappears into a black hole anyway. I can't think of any way to display the SMTP transaction between tradeclient and the...

I download my mail from various servers using fetchmail; the mail gets dumped into /var/spool/mail/steve. I then run a POP3 server locally from where I download into a mail client. I send mail directly to my ISP's SMTP server. This works fine for other mail client, but I have problems with tradeclient.
Sending doesn't work at all. The status window says 'Sending message ...' but nothing...
