Local system drive, SSD. I checked Event Viewer for WHEAs, ran chkdsk, sfc, checked the temps, SSD health report... everything looks fine. The only thing that stood out to me is that the drive was a bit hot, around 60-70 °C during full load. Just to test this theory, I ran some consecutive stress test/benchmarks that made the SSD controller reach max temp of 83 °C and ran the same 7-zip tests at the same time. No problems, all went well.

I created some 7z archives and then selected them all and tested them. All archives passed the test, except for the last archive. It said "Cannot open file as archive" for about 90% of the files in this archive. But then I tested this archive again and also all archives together several times and there were no errors anymore. So the errors only happened the first time. I can also confirm that the archive contents are okay (I could extract it, no problem). So... what happened and why did it fail at...

Maybe you have selected some directory before pressing "test"? Oh wow. Yes, it looks like that's it. I selected it along with the 7z files by accident. Thanks! And sorry for wasting your time. But hopefully one day someone else will find it useful. :)

This archive contains ~14.3k files. I received the error for a little bit over 13k of the files: in the 7-zip testing error window there was a list of every file that failed and there was a number next to it. I'm pretty sure the error text next to every file said "Cannot open file as archive". But it's also possible that I remember wrongly and the error message said something else (is there a different error message that could be displayed?). But I for sure remember the final number of "files with...
