Good new, everybody! We are now working with Michele (euronymous666) and Alberto (dalob78) from Integratingweb on an opentaps - magento integration. This integration will support pulling products and orders from magento and posting shipment information back to magento from opentaps. The end result is that you will be able to use the online store, catalog manager, and order entry features from...

Yes, you can certainly build from Ecliipse. A lot of people do that. For debugging, you can look at the eclipse tutorial on [www.opensourcestrategies.com/ofbiz/tutorials.php][1], although I've personally found the debugging with IntelliJ much easier. You can set up IntelliJ to listen on a port, and then just run opentaps, and debugging will work, without all that configuration.

These are also really good suggestions.
The purpose of this opentaps 2.0 document is really to lay out a technical foundation for doing all these things, and then once we have a more modular and Ajax driven framework, they become easier to do. I plan to do this by making two releases, opentaps 2.0 which will be more of a technical re-factoring to move to this modular framework, and then...

I'm not sure this "unable to rename file" is related to hardware requirements, but I'd recommend you get something with at least 2 gb of ram. Xms=256M, Xmx=1024M, PermGenSize=256M is what we'd recommend.

It shouldn't take 3-5 minutes, though I have noticed that the first time you generate an invoice PDF it is slower. The next time it is cached and the speed is pretty fast. Is that the case for you as well?.

Yes, I agree completely, and that will be something else we will be working on after to release of opentaps 1.4. The only reason I didn't mention it in this particular document is because it's actually fairly independent of this new architecture. In fact, an installer could be fairly independent of opentaps altogether.

Hi everybody,
I wrote down some notes of [early plans for opentaps 2.0][1]. Please take a look and tell me what you think!

I just wanted to let you know that new Amazon ec2 images are available for opentaps 1.4 preview 3. In addition to opentaps, we have also added opentaps analytics and Funambol out of the box, so you can try the pentaho-based reporting system and Funambol to synchronize opentaps with your Outlook or mobile devices.
Here are the [instructions for running opentaps analytics on the EC2...

thanks for the feedback!
This has also been fixed in versions/1.4/trunk, so an $ svn update will take care of it too.
