I've been using DBUnit to manage the reference data for
our integration/development database and it's been very
useful thus far. However I have some ideas that may

I too ran into this very frustrating bug myself. I dug into
this a bit and it seems that in the FlatXMLProducer, the
metadata is created based off of the first row for the table
encountered and never updated after that. I have some (ugly

Hi Julen,
Sounds like a good strategy to me. My initial guess is that it will take at least a year or so to get something going. I think that's about how long the WTP took to get going. I would also guess that their initial focus would not be on the tools, but on the modeling/connectivity side of things. To me, there is a definite need for that sort of thing right now.

It seems as though the eclipse foundation is starting a data tools project, which seems to overlap quite a bit with quantum, especially in the tools area:

On the one hand, I think it would make sense to consolidate the efforts of quantum and this new project and use quantum as a starting point in the tools area. I hate to see 2...

I don't know Julen, I think you're being a little too nice about this whole myeclipse thing. I think it's clear that they copied a lot of the basics from quantum, if not actual code.
This is the whole reason I wanted quantum to be GPL in the first place, I didn't want someone taking the stuff I developed, tweaking it a little bit and then making money off my hard work. Unfortunately, this...

Funny you should mention IBM's DB tools from WSAD. They are exactly the reason I created Quantum. (Or more accurately, why I converted it into an Eclipse Plugin)

Unfortunately there are currently no extension points in quantum. I did have the idea of allowing other people to run sql queries against quantum, but haven't followed up on the idea.
