Well I went a different route and installed debian on my test laptop.. Here I got mod_mce to work just fine, but lirc_mod_mce will not load. lirc_mod_mce: Unknown symbol lirc_get_pdata Is 0.8.1 required.. or will 0.8.0 work?(this is what debian has)

  • Followup: RE: System keeps locking..

One more update.. I fresh installed Fedora Core 6 on my laptop(different system altogether).. Using default stuff and Kernel 2.6.18 from the CD.. I installed lirc_mod_mce and it locks up immediately after the IR receiver gets its first signal from a remote.

This happens with mod_mce also. It seems to be OK until I use an IR device. This is kernel 2.6.20.

  • System keeps locking..

Now that the driver works.. my system keeps hard locking. I actually had the mouse cursor moving a little bit.. but then it locked up. Is there anything I should be looking for? This is Fedora Core 6 with a dkms built lirc 0.8.2 for fc6. Any help or direction would be appreciated..

  • Followup: RE: How to make the keyboard functions work?

I did actually reboot.. I think maybe there are still some 0.8.2 remnants.. so I will play with it a bit tonight. Is there an expected fix for 0.8.2 though?.

  • Followup: RE: How to make the keyboard functions work?

I blacklisted lirc_mceusb2.. but now I have the same problem another user had(even after I downgraded from lirc 0.8.2 to 0.8.1): lirc_dev: lirc_register_plugin: sample_rate: 0 lirc_dev: lirc_register_plugin: no module owner registered lirc_mod_mce[8]: out of memory (code=9) lirc_mod_mce: probe of 1-2:1.0 failed with error -12 usbcore: registered new interface driver lirc_mod_mce And it...

  • How to make the keyboard functions work?

I have lirc_mod_mce installed.. and it seems to be working. If I run irw I can use the media keys on the keyboard or the MCE remote.. but I cannot seem to use the mouse or the keyboard functionality. I am not sure what I am missing. lirc_mceusb2: Philips eHome USB IR Transciever and Microsoft MCE 2005 Remote Control driver for LIRC $Revision: 1.25 $ lirc_mceusb2: Daniel Melander...

  • green vertical band problem..

I installed ivtv as instructed.. the modules load without error and I can use the utilities included. The problem is that when I view /dev/video0 with mplayer what I see is basically a green banded video.. and under all the green banding(vertical) I see the TV picture.. but it appears to be cut in half with the left side on the right and the right side on the left. Audio seems to work. This is...
