I could tell that Listeners were probably the correct way to do what I'm wanting, so I'm also trying to wrap my head around the best way to use them.

I have the same situation. I've read of the approach of using Monitor labels like "20090206:0700" an for say, hourly statistics. And that seems fine, except that it's obviously going to consume an ever-growing amount of memory. I was hoping that I could use Monitor.disable() to purge them from the HashMap, but that doesn't work.
Is there just not a built-in way to produce...

The Batemail project has a new developer on board - Jack Bates of BrightNet Oklahoma!!! He's already proved himself with a number of security fixes and is eagerly crunching away at several new features. I have a feeling we're going to see some really good things from him in the future.
