I was testing current vmware image ("VMOSSIM0704" - 0.9.9rc4) and realized that "Clean DB" function in vmossim.sh script is not properly working. I fixed lib/utils.sh. Patch (temporarily) uploaded to:

You said they're focused on different things. A brief summary would be appreciated for:
- OSSIM
- Prelude
- OSSEC
- OpenSIMS
- (fill in with your favourite SIM suite)
I don't know for sure but perhaps I could provide some kind of comparison, if I have some time to test (some of) them (and my boss permits it... :-)).

I'm reviewing OSSIM functionality and I'd like to know how OSSIM compares to other open-source SIMS (like prelude, ossec, etc). Do you know of any comparative review/doc/work? It would be nice if you could point to interesting articles showing different solutions' pros & cons o, etc.
